Hi, I'm yasmin & welcome to my website
I am a Glasgow-born and bred writer. I write for children, teens and occasionally adults too. Things you may not know about me:
- I had a cockatiel (small parrot) called Chirpy when I was younger who liked to whistle.
- My favourite cake is birthday cake!
- I like martial arts and have experience in Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing and Krav Maga.
- I can't live without beans or tomato ketchup!

About Me
Growing up I didn't have access to alot of books but my sisters and I would come up with wild and wacky stories together.
I wasn't particulalry bookish growing up and it took me a long time to find 'the book' that made me love reading and writing. For me it was The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, and of course a brilliant English teacher at school also helped.
I went on to study Law at university but quickly realised that it was English Literature I loved. After finishing my Law degree, I went on to study English Literature at univeristy, even doing a module in Children's Literature!
I then began to teach young people literacy, language and numeracy skills at a youth charity after doing a one-year teaching degree.
I continued to write on and off during that period dipping my toes in the world of books and writing whenever I could. I did a writers retreat, a couple of adult creative writing classes at Strathclyde University and more recently found a fantastic Glasgow Children's writing group!
